Kenny Garcia is currently a Reference & Instruction Librarian at CSU-Monterey Bay. He previously worked as a faculty intern and volunteer librarian at the Los Angeles City College library and as the Learning Resource Center Coordinator at Concorde Career College-North Hollywood. Before moving to Los Angeles, he worked for the New York Public Library, assisted the Center for Arab American Studies and the Center for the Study of Automotive Heritage at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, taught computer literacy courses at Bronx Community College and LaGuardia Community College, worked for the New York City Department of Education teaching incarcerated and formerly incarcerated youth and adults, and worked with community-based organizations such as Asociación Tepeyac de New York and Quilombo Collective NYC. He is interested in critical information literacy, critical pedagogy, academic libraries, and popular education.
